We're about to deploy a CMS 6 site that was upgraded from EPiServer 4.x. How do we handle old URLs vs new URLs? I'm thinking google discovery here. With old URLs I mean http://www.site.com/templates/Page.aspx?id=369 and new URLs (the sexy ones) like http://www.site.com/about.
Do we need to configure 301:s for redirection, or is this something that EPi can handle out of the box?
Hi Johan!Have a look in in the web help for admins and how to rebuild names. http://webhelp.episerver.com/CMS/6.0/EN/Configuration/SS_RebuildWebAddress.htmIf you are looking for a permanent solution maybe Joels blog about custom 404 handling helps you out. http://labs.episerver.com/en/Blogs/Joel-Abrahamsson/Dates2/2009/5/A-simple-solution-for-custom-404-pages-and-permanent-redirects/
