Remove language from friendly urls

Vote:

Hi,

I'm working on a website where the client is sure there will be no additional languages.

Is there a way to remove the language part of the friendly url?

Thanks,

Martin

Did you manage to find a solution to this?  I am trying to do the same - its annoying with /en/ in the URL when I only have 1 language for the site.

Hi!

Since EPiServer CMS 5 SP1 we do not write out the language path of the url for sites that only have one language branch enabled so the solution is to make sure that you only have your active language branch enabled. This can be done in under admin->config->Manage Web Site Languages.

Hi Linus,

I have only English enabled but the site still keeps /en in the urls. Maybe I'm not using the correct version of Episerver. Mine is 5.1.422.4.

Thanks,

Hi!

You are using the R1 release of EPiServer. Please upgrade to the SP1 release and you should not have the language part in the url:s any more.

Hi Justin!

The friendly url handling in EPiServer CMS 4 is quite different from CMS 5 and 6 and we have not done any changes to it as far as I'm aware of. In EPiServer CMS 5 it's possible to add event handlers to rewrite links etc but I'm not sure that this is possible in EPiServer CMS 4 and therefore I can not see any simple solution to your problem in EPiServer CMS 4.
