Cyrillic, Greek etc. characters in URL?

Vote:

Hello, We are having a discussion with our SEO-agency about the possibility to use for instance Cyrillic and Greek letters (and å,ä,ö for that matter) in the URLs in EPiServer. Of course there are pros and cons to using this approach but my question now is more of a technical matter, since EPiServer stops URLs that contain anything other than a-z, 0-9 and -. Does anyone know if it's technically possible to go around this limit or if EPiServer has any thoughts about changing this validation in the future? Best regards Martin

It seems the firendlyurl functionality is based on a provider model so you should be able to create you own urlrewriter functionality and use the exact page name and path in the url.
