Permissions for blocks

Vote:

Hi,

I'm sure this must have been asked before but I've not been able to find an answer. I was wondering if it's possible to set permissions on an instance of a block in order that only specified users or groups can edit that instance? I would have expected the same functionality as for pages but it doesn't seem to be there.

Anyone know how this can be achieved?

Thanks,

Mark

You can do this from admin mode, not from edit mode unfortunately.

Hi Johan,

Ah ok, I've found that now when viewing the block type. It only provides create access, presumably anyone that can create can also edit? I had hoped to be able to lock it down a bit more as we have a scenario where a group of editors will not have edit access to a page but we need them to be able to edit a block that will be on that page. Similarly we would have other groups of editors that should not be allowed to edit the page or the block. Do you know if this will work that way?

Thanks,

Mark
