Creating a new dashboard widget

Hi guys,

Just want to know what is the best possible way to create a widget in the dashboard (not in edit view but in dashboard)

This (http://world.episerver.com/documentation/Items/Developers-Guide/EPiServer-CMS/9/User-interface/dashboard-gadgets2/Dashboard-gadgets/) article suggests that it is better to create a Dojo-based component instead of old MVC gadgets but I can't find any documentation/examples. EPiServer alloy tech comes with a number of gadgets (e.g. forms viewers, rss feed reader etc). I would like to create my own widget similar to these.

Any pointers?

What the article suggests is to create them in edit view in either the page tree pane or assets pane, which doesn't seem to be an option for you. In other words, follow the documentation you linked to and ignore the suggestion to create a Dojo-based component. :)
