Merging Ektron and EPiServer MVP programs

I’m very happy to welcome all of the Ektron MVPs on EPiServer World and the EMVP Program!

So – with the addition of Ken McAndrew (Celerity), Daved Artemik (Celerity), Dustin Sier (WSOL), Chris Osterhout (WSOL), Jon Binnie (G2G3), Chris Jacques (Johnson & Wales University) and Brad Steele (HintTech) we reach an impressive 32 EMVPs!

Isnt the program supposed to have people contributing to the EPiServer Community in a period of time? If so this sounds strange to me? They contribute to the Ektron Community? Or are you saying that beeing an emvp for EPiServer you do not need to contribute at all to the EPiServer developer Community?

Eric, I think the programs are merging and this is the first step on it, but Allan can maybe explain more

Yes but merging two programs into one is something I do not understand since we welcome them to the EMVP program for EPiServer and for the long run Ektron will be obsolete in favor of EPiServer.

Since EPiServer and Ektron are now a combined company the value the EMVPs offered in the separate programs remains. This is not diminished by the fact that we've kept the EPiServer name. This is the NEW EPiServer. As always we'll evaluate the members at different points in the year to see if they meet the program criteria as well as review non-members who have contributed to the community. I would expect that this program will evolve with the converged platform.

Hi Eric. Thanks for the feedback. To build on Jeff's comments, we're looking at a converged, single platform as well as a converged, single community. In the meantime, both products continue to be supported. The long-term plan is _not_ that EPiServer technology will remain and Ektron technology will go away, though that's been a common misconception with the merger. We aim to bring together the best of each, and that includes the community as well. The awesome people mentioned by Allan have a great deal of experience working in the CMS space and are a major source for positive momentum in the combined community. I hope we'll be able to use their knowledge and experience as we bring these technologies together. As Jeff said, these newcomers will be subject to the same evaluations as EPiServer's MVPs and I look forward to their contributions to both platforms over the next year.

I would be happy to answer this, but it appears both @Jeff and @eGandalf beat me to it with excellent answers...So "what they said".

Ok I got it ektron stil ektron and epi still epi. But for MVPs we now only have one program with the name of EPiServer but you still need to contribute to the seperate communities to become an emvp?
