Episerver - update 158

New release of Episerver CMS Core and Episerver CMS UI. Bug fixes for Episerver Find and A/B Testing, removal of Beta flag for CMS Content Approvals.

The update applies to Episerver projects version 7.5 and higher, and contains finalized work items included in the latest iteration. Continuous release updates are cumulative to include previous updates. Episerver supports all platform updates and strongly recommends that you keep ongoing projects up-to-date. You can install the updates from the Episerver NuGet feed.

Main packages
This release information lists updated main package versions for the Episerver platform. When a release is built, other dependent packages also may be bumped to new versions, although they contain no publicly visible changes. This is done to avoid dependency errors. When you upgrade, NuGet alerts you to upgrade related packages to the required versions. For Commerce, it is important to ensure that you are running the same version of CMS and Commerce, both in the front-end and back-end applications.

Episerver CMS Core

New feature:

    • CMS-6598Content Approvals API: Comments required for Decline and Approve

Options on the ApprovalDefinition class have been added to require comments on approve/decline. Option is validated when approving or declining content using the API. If not set, an exception is thrown.

Other minor API improvements have been implemented. For example, Approver has been renamed to Reviewer, and performance optimization has been done to the query API.

New feature:

    • CMS-5554Content Approvals: Comments required for Decline and Approve
When setting up an approval sequence, administrators can now require reviewers to add a comment when approving and/or declining an approval step.

The person who started the approval sequence will see this comment as a notification in the user interface:

The Beta flag has now been removed from the content approvals feature.
See also Khurram Hanif's blog post on this feature.

New feature:

    • MAR-605: The A/B testing feature has been localized to the same languages as the CMS user interface.
