Disabling tool bar icons in rich text editor

Vote:

I am a newbie to EPiServer and have looked around as much as I can for a way to easily disable certain rich text editor toolbar icons and have had no joy. Does anyone have any quick pointers on how that can be done either across the board or based on roles. Basically I don't want some users to be able to switch to HTML mode and some not to be able to change styles.

Thanks in advance

Hi Ted,

For customize settings on HTML editor for specific user/group, first you have to remove that user/groups from "All functions available in Editor" by following these steps:

  • Go to admin mode
  • Click config Tab
  • Under security tab click Permission for functions
  • Click "All functions available in the Editor"
  • Remove your required user/group.

Now go to your required pagetype and click on your XHTML property and un-check the icons which you dont want to show.
