Failed to register URL for your website when using VS2012 and IIS Express?

I am setting up a new project with CMS 7 and stumble upon a problem with running EPiServer CMS7 with IIS Express. Thought I should write a quick answer to the problem.

If you are getting this error:

To fix this issue you just need to run your instance of VS2012 as an administrator.

When that is done you can run your application with IIS Express.

I ran into this earlier, if you right click and then click properties-> Advanced - > you can set this program to automatically "Run as administrator' by checking the checkbox. This way you don't always have to right click and run as administrator. Just an FYI. Thanks Eric.

Instead of running VS2012 as administrator, you can open a command prompt as administrator and run this command:

netsh http add urlacl url=http://*:37002/ user=everyone

You should only need to do this once to get rid of the permissions issues.

Thanks for the replys :) I always have run as administrator but i have experienced problem when I tryt to open a VS-document with that setting from windows explorer. Without it works just fine, strange?! Yes.

The other solution is great. Solved my problem with not beeing able to open documents from explorer.
