Episerver - update 162
New release of Episerver CMS Core and bug fixes for Episerver Forms and Episerver Connect for SharePoint. This update also includes the notice of removed support for SQL Server 2008 R2 in a coming update.
Note: From update 163, support for SQL Server 2008 R2 will be removed. This means that we will no longer test releases on this version, and future releases may use functionality in SQL Server 2012 and later. If you are running SQL Server 2008 R2 today and want to keep Episerver up-to-date in the future, you should upgrade your database to a newer version.
The update applies to Episerver projects version 7.5 and higher, and contains finalized work items included in the latest iteration. Continuous release updates are cumulative to include previous updates. Episerver supports all platform updates and strongly recommends that you keep ongoing projects up-to-date. You can install the updates from the Episerver NuGet feed.
Main packages
This release information lists updated main package versions for the Episerver platform. When a release is built, other dependent packages also may be bumped to new versions, although they contain no publicly visible changes. This is done to avoid dependency errors. When you upgrade, NuGet alerts you to upgrade related packages to the required versions. For Commerce, it is important to ensure that you are running the same version of CMS and Commerce, both in the front-end and back-end applications.

Episerver CMS Core
New feature:
- CMS-6258: Improved separation between CMS Core and System.Web + StructureMap
Previously, there were strong dependencies between CMS Core and ASP.NET/System.Web and StructureMap, making it difficult to upgrade StructureMap and ASP.NET among other things. This story is the first step towards separating some of the CMS Core APIs from StructureMap and ASP.NET at the class/interface level. Future steps include moving those dependencies to separate NuGet packages.
Episerver Forms
- EPiServer.Forms 4.5.1 (There are no public work items in this release.)
