Thumbnail storage in load balanced environment

morning all,

the image gallery node in the <episerver.community> section of the web config has an imageAbsoluteFilePath parameter and a thumbnailVirtualFilePath parameter.

I'm looking to set up a load balanced environment with 2 web servers, and have a couple of questions:

1. Can the imageAbsoluteFilePath parameter be passed a UNC path to a shared file server?

2. Thumbnails go into the virtual drive specified by the thumbnailVirtualFilePathparameter, this will be server specific, which will lead to thumbnails not being accessible on both servers. Can this be reconfigured to work in a load balanced environment?

1) imageAbsoluteFilePath can be a UNC path

2) You can point the thumbnailVirtualFilePath to an IIS virtual directory which in turn points to a UNC path.

This the typical setup for shared files in a load balanced environment.
