The need for SMTP settings

Hi,

I just want to double check my understanding of EpiServer Mail:

  • The sending of emails to recipients is not done on our infrastructure - an order email with content and recipient data is sent to a dedicated EPiServer Mail Server Cluster to do the actual sending.
  • The installation process want SMTP details - these are only to send this order email.

Is this correct?
