Is there anyway of knowing which user has deleted a page?

That information should be possible to find in the change log, as long as it's activated. If you go to admin mode, you can find it under the config tab. Since throwing something in the recycle bin is considered a move operation, select Move as the action.
Now, the data you find there isn't really user friendly. But what you are looking for is the row where ContentLink is the id of the page and NewParent is the id of the recycle bin. With that you should be able to find who did that operation, and when.

We have had a page randomly disappear from our menu, which turned out to be in the recycle bin. Is there anyway of finding out which user has deleted it - the version tab doesnt give any clues to who has deleted, only amended.
