Page tree not updating

Vote:

Hi,

I have installed the new version of EPiServer CMS6 R2 (6.1.379.502) on my EpiServer MS 6 R2 site but it seems like some of the bugfixes in this update dosen't work for me.

The problem si that the page tree dosen't update. E.g. if I click on Page1 in the page tree and then click on a link to Page2 I will see the Page2 in page preview but the page tree dosen't update and Page1 will still be marked.  If I now click on "edit page" for Page2 I will go to edit Page1.

Does anyone else have the same problem and how can I fix this?

/Armela

Hi,

Seems like a known bug which was fixed in .502 release. Verify the Assembly File Version for EPiServer.UI.dll in GAC (c:\windows\assembly) and in site's bin folder, that should 6.1.379.502

Hi,

EPiServer.UI.dll has file version 6.1.379.502 both in GAC and in the site's bin folder. It is strange because the other bugs was fixed when installing this update but the page tree-problem is still there..

I would install a vanilla site (6.1379.502) on same machine to see if the same problem occurs there or not.

Hi,

before I install a vanilla site I just want to make sure if "version" under admin->config->modules should be 6.1.379.0 or should it be 6.1.379.502? Mine is 6.1.379.0.

Also in Web.config under <assemblyBinding> the "newVersion" for EPiServer.UI is 6.1.379.0.

Is this right?

Yes, that's correct. Both views shows the Assembly Version NOT assembly File Version.  Latest version of 6R2 has same assembly version as before (i.e. 6.1.379.0) but a different Assembly File Version (i.e. 6.1.379.502)

Hi again,

I have tried to install a new 6.1379.502 vanilla site, and it works, the pagetree reflects the page preview.

Do you have any more ideas what may have gone wrong with my update?

Check VPP paths that they point to the correct version?
Try switching web.config to a working one for that version (.502) that you get from an installed test site...(and copy paste all EPiServer dlls as well to bin folder)
