EPiServer Modules

Hi there!

I recently learned that there is a Blog module in EPiServer CMS. Is it documented anywhere? And where can I find which modules that came with CMS 6 R2?

Hi, the blog module and corresponding page templates are included in the Alloy Technologies demo site for CMS 6, which can be downloaded here:

http://world.episerver.com/Download/Items/EPiServer-CMS/EPiServer-CMS-60/EPiServer-CMS-6-Demo-Site/

If you go to the download section on World, and then select either CMS 6 or CMS 6 R2 from the dropdown list, all the modules like Public Templates, Alloy Technologies and Springshield demo sites should be available for download.

Unfortunately the blog module is not available in a standalone module package.

If you want to extract just the blog functionality and page templates into another project, here's a blog post about which files and config settings you'll need (the blog is written for CMS 5, but it hasn't changed much in CMS 6):

Hope this helps get you started.

Thanks for answering, Arild!

The AlloyTech sample is where I found the blog module, while trying to figure out how the Dates and Tags folder got created. Do you know if there is any documentation about the samples, or am I supposed to figure them out on my own?

Well, there's some more info on the blog module in the demo site installation instructions: http://world.episerver.com/Documentation/Items/Installation-Instructions/EPiServer-CMS/Version-6/EPiServer-CMS-60/Installation-Instructions---Demo-Site/

Other than that the modules aren't that complicated, you should be able to figure them out quickly by studying the aspx and cs files. Any particular modules you're having trouble with other than blog?
