Link collection producing 404s on PDFs & Zips but not .jpgs?

I have a link collection on a download page that is producing a 404 when I click on the links.
Originally all links produced a 404 but re-adding the .jpg links fixed the jpgs. This did not work for PDF or Zip download links.
The links are all /link/*unique string*.jpg or .pdf, etc
Any ideas?
