Episerver scheduler not running well?

I have heard that it might be trouble to install EPiServer CMS 4 and 5 on the same server. During some circumstances the Scheduler service stops to work. If this problem exists what can I do to avoid it? I'm planning to install EPiServer CMS 5 on a live server and I can't have a Scheduler service stopping on it, except for a short time.
