Image Cropper - New Package

Vote:

Hi All,

I just released a new package that allows image cropping at the page/block level. You can choose from two editors:

Image Rerence (Single Image)

Image Reference List (Galleries)

You can also define crop ratio for each editor:

Nuget repository: https://nuget.episerver.com/package/?id=ITMeric.ImageCrop

Project site:https://github.com/itMeric/ITMeric.ImageCrop/

Really look forward to hearing your thoughts/comments.

Thanks,

Maciej

Thanks for creating it Maciej, it looks great!

It's worth creating a blog to share this. It's super easy to blog straight on World from here: https://world.episerver.com/manage-your-blogs/

Hi David,

Thanks for the kind words :)

I would love to gather some feedback from the fellow devs so all the bugs/issues can be fixed upon sharing with the community.

Thanks,

Maciej

It does resize too - it extends ImageResizer.Plugins.EPiServerBlobReader helper methods :)

ex:  Model.CurrentPage.Image.GetCropUrl(width: 100, height: 100)

I see, nais! what is a bit conflicting (for me at least) that there are couple of packages sovling the same issue (see Ted's promo video - https://youtu.be/pVifzJIImz8). thinking - maybe it's time to unite and create single (but the most awesome) package all together?! :)

Thanks Valdis!

In the short term aim for this package is to support rich media as well (mp4, youtube, vimeo etc).

If you have had a chance to look at it, I would really appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks,

Maciej

Hi Maciej,

Very nice add-on! I did some tests with your code and my ImageProcessor.Web.Episerver add-on and it worked without any code changes (except for changing references of course). Would you be interested in releasing an ImageProcessor compatible version? And if not, would you mind me building something based on your code?

Greetings,

Vincent

An ImageProcessor compatible version of the package has now been released. See https://world.episerver.com/blogs/vincent-baaij/dates/2019/1/episerver-and-imageprocessor-new-crop-addition/

Hi Vicent,

Apologies, somehow missed your initial message.

As I will be brining some updates to the package in due course, it would be ideal if you could submit changes as a pull request.

Thanks,

Maciej

Hi Maciej,

Thanks for this great addition to Episerver. It is really useful in the project we are currently working on.

One thing would be an improvement for us: a link to browse the assets folders. Sometimes the image field is on a block which appears in a modal overlay (we use "Episerver Labs - Block Enhancements") and in that case we are not able to add an image.

Greetings,

John
