Import into one EPiServer site from another failing

Hi,

When I try to import a group of pages from an existing site into a new site, I get the following error:

[Importing page 1525_1741] Cannot map category "/Category_Name/Sub_Category" to a local category.

I tried importing all dependent cataegories before importing the pages as well as tried importing categories along with the pages (i.e. in the same import file as the pages) but to no avail.

Can you please help me with this?

Hi Sandeep

I would start with opening the export package and check the xml for page 1525_1741. Start by changing the filename to .zip then open and extract the files. When you find the node you should be able to see what Category that is causing the issue.

Thanks for your prompt response Petter.

I made the mistake of assuming that all of the categories referenced by the pages I was importing were already present........really silly!
