Not able to use user login

Hi.

Does anyone have an example code for user login from front end?
Users needs to login to get specific info, but should not be allowed to access backend.

I'm not able to find any sample code for this. I've looked at Login.aspx, but

Or do you have saple code of opening the Login form in a popup winfow / dialog box ?
