Is this in a custom property? What EPiServer version? Your screenshot won't help us that much unfortunately. Can you provide HTML and CSS for that area as well?

It's hard to help you without some HTML or the code for the checkbox property (is it a custom checkbox property created by your developers, or are you using the built-in Categories property?)
In the Chromium support case you say you are content editors, not developers. Whoever developed this for you should be able to troubleshoot the code for you. Is that an option?
