Cannot select assets in dynamic properties

Your heading and description for the forum thread does not really match, but I'll try and give you some background on how dynamic content currently works.
Both dynamic content and dynamic properties (that is turned off by default in Episerver CMS 9) uses the old CMS 6 editing system. This system does not support automatically creating editors for some of the properties that are created since Episerver 7 as well as some of the properties that have been rewritten since Episerver 7. This includes:
- The media properties.
- ContentArea
- ContentReferenceList
Also, the old editing system does not honour attributes on your model, as the new editing system does. You have a few options to move forward:
- Create a custom editing UI for your dynamic content.
- Live with the rather non-user friendly editors, for instance a textbox with the path to the assets.
- Move away from dynamic properties and use content blocks inside your HTML instead.

Hello everyone,
I am facing a problem on the default properties front: While applying the "Ignore" attribute to a default property (example Category property) it does not work in the CMS (tried with EPiServer 7.5 & EPiServer 9) whereas in the previous implementation it used to work. Please provide any help/suggestion that may be useful in this case.
