Update EPiServer.Packaging and EPiServer.Packaging.UI to support Nuget.Core > 2.8

Vote:

I notised today that these both packages has defined in there dependency that they only support Nuget.Core (≥ 2.5 && < 2.8)

Would it be possible to update them to support the latest version of nuget.core (2.8.5)?

The latest version below 2.8 is 2.7.2 and it very old

Yeah, NuGet is not using semantic versioning themselves so there are breaking changes in 2.8. We plan to upgrade at some point.

Not really, we have not prioritized this. Any reasons you ran into this?

A tip if your site is not using UI Addons (that is Addons managed by the web User interface) is to uninstall EPiServer.Packaging and EPiServer.Packaging.UI. As long as you add Addons through VisualStudio (as ordinary Nuget packages) there are no need for those packages.
