reserved system URLs

Vote:

Hi

In the next few months we shall be deploying episerver 7.5 to replace our existing CMS system but it will also be running along side a bunch of other applications (We have a traffic manager that cuts over different URL's to different sets of servers but the episerver servers will be the default to send traffic to if no match found)

I've heard episerver has some system reserved URL's, is this listed somewhere?

Thanks

Hi!

The system URL:s are dynamically defined. In an EPiServer 7.5 site, you can look at the uiUrl under applicationSettings element, usually defined in the episerver.config file. Remove the CMS part and you have the root URL for the system. For instance:

<applicationSettings uiUrl="~/EPiServer/CMS/" gives that [hostname]/episerver is used for the system.

Of course, any URL can be used for the site since it's tied to the pages on the web site.

Thanks I'll be sure to check the config when it arrives.
