CSR UI: When creating a cart without selecting an address, strange characters appear in cart

Description

Precondition: An existing customer has an address but has not set a default.
Steps to reproduce

1. In Quicksilver, log in with the customer account named in the precondition.
2. Add an item to the cart.
3. Go to checkout.
4. In the CSR UI, select the cart in step 2.
   Actual: Strange characters appear in the shipping address (see attached screen shot)
5. Convert the cart to an order.
   Actual: Still displaying strange characters in shipping address, same as in a cart

Expected: No shipping address is selected. You see "Choose shipping address"
