Tested in a release installation of 7.5 CMS/Commerce with sample site installed. Attached quanta catalog zip that causes importer to stall at 44% and eventually fail. It is a 1MB catalog zip.
Log shows that import problems occur once import of catalog nodes occurs.
The workaround is to import the catalog zip using command line import that bypasses the UI. Using that method should import the zip successfully.
