The great company I work at has giving us the opportunity to do a project about nearly what we want as long as it is about app-development or cloud-development as a updating of skills-project. We work at this one day every other week so now there are Sphere balls, Lego mindstorm robots and AR Drones flying/rolling/walking around the office and every developer is like a little kid again.
For me I wanted to do something a little else that is not so hot in cool hardware but for me it is cool because I really like what EPiServer have done in these last release in the deployment area. I will do a little project I call “The ultimate EPiServer Windows Azure website” and that project’s goal is to have an open source solution that is up to date with the latest versions of EPiServer and includes not only the simple things but more complex things and also shows how to implement EPiServer as a Azure website. Right now the things I have decided it should include is this:
* A site running as a Azure Website
* Built on Bootstrap 3
* Running EPiServer Find (and later Owl) as both external and internal search solution
* Running Continuous Delivery with Git and Github
* Both segment and partial routing
* Using asynchronous logging to Azure Table Store
* Advanced Dashboard gadget with listening and filtering using AngularJS
Since it will be open source everyone are going to be able to participate with things they think would be great for other developers to take inspiration on and be helped by. In the beginning now it will be a closed repository until I feels it is ready for the rest of the world to see, so now I want you all to give me more things that should be in the solution and feedback me your thoughts on this little project. I will update the blog with the progress of the project and there will be a site up as fast as I can get it running that will show of the rest of the project in the company.
If you feel that wow, what a cool company to work for where you are allowed to do all those cool stuff then do not hesitate to contact me and I will pass your info to those working with recruitment!
