Does Composer 4.0 -> 4.1 alter database?

Is there any database alterations when updating Composer 4.0 to 4.1?
I'dl like to know if I have to run the "Upgrade to Composer 4.1" option on my production server, or if it is sufficient enough to include the updated assemblies in the EPiServer project + ensuring that the Composer 4.1 application-files are installed.
