Package that contains other packages

Vote:

Hi

Is it possible to have a package that contains other packages?

Any specific setting to get this done?

As the entire package is treated as an SKU, so it should be able for a package to contain another package (however it would be more complicated, conceptually). However this can be done only in Commerce Manager, but not Catalog UI. I'll check with my team to see if there is a reason for that.

thanks!

adding this on the pagetype solved the issue

[AvailableContentTypes(Include = new[] { typeof(PackageContent)})]

but i will think this through few more times...

Our customer sells Kits that have "instruction kits" in it also "cleaning kit"

So a Kit (package) have

Item 1 (main product)
Item 2 (bag)
Item 3 (Cable)
Kit 1 (instruction, warranty, other paper stuff)
Kit 2 (cleaning stuff.. 4 items)

any other idea how this should be solved instead of package in package?

This was registered as bug COM-4394, and we will fix it in upcoming releases (probably 10.6.0, but it's not a promise). Stay tuned :)
