ÅÄÖ not allowed in XForms fields name

Vote:

Hello!

In XForms when trying to write special characters like åäö in the field names Episerver throws a validation error before the form is even saved. The error reads "Incorrect field name. The name must begin with a letter, and must only contain alphanumeric characters (a-z, A-Z, 1-9 and "_", space is not allowed)."  This results in the names not being spelled correctly in the mail that is automatically sent when the form is posted.

Does anybody know if there is a workaround for this?

Thanks in advance,

/Kenia

If you want nice emails it's usually best to customize them in BeforeSubmitPostedData event and then cancel the ordinary email. Then you can format them to your hearts desire :)

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for your reply. Yes customizing the email is always an option. I wanted to know though if there was another way, like a configuration option or something like that.
