Best way to add settings to a custom property

Vote:

We have an old custom property where we added the possibility to set a setting for that type. This worked in CMS 6 R2, but is not working in 7.5

My question is not how to fix the problem since we have updated that custom property to work better but I would like to know how to add settings to a custom property "the 7.5 way".

Linus did a great blog post on how to access properties from code, but this was already built in property.

Anyone got a example of this?

This behavior should still work, but it might be changed slightly since EPi 6.

I think that if you take a look at the implementation of PropertyDropDownList you should be able to find if there are any relevant differences from your own Property Setting.
