I'm struggling to find the right terms to search for an answer to this.

I have a requirement to show a user some links and info processed via a web service. My intention it to create a .Net User Contol as Dynamic Content, but I'll need to grab a reference to the currently logged in user in order to process the service request and currently I can't figure out how to do that. Is there something along the lines of

var user = EpiServer.CurrentUser.UserName;

Maybe I can do this through a public property of the Dynamic Content that is set to a required value by an editor, but this feels like the wrong way to tackle this.

Any advice on how to search for this or the terminology used?
