Example Site Installation!

EPiServer CMS 5 R2  is available as a express installation ready for you as a developer to examine and use directly. The express installation installs an example Web site with the EPiServer public templates package onto your local machine. EPiServer CMS 5 R2 is installed through the new EPiServer Deployment Center.

EPiServer Deployment Center

EPiServer CMS 5 R2 is delivered through the new EPiServer Deployment Center encapsulated within a standard MSI-package. This means that you now can install and uninstall EPiServer CMS like any other product on your server. The installation is divided into two parts; installation of EPiServer CMS base components and installation of Web sites. You can also select a express install scenario making it very quick and easy to install a first version of EPiServer CMS.

The EPiServer Deployment Center is also fundamental for the future product installations. It is based on Power Shell Scripts, which makes it easy for any third party company to use the same installer for their products as well.    

Public Templates


The EPiServer CMS 5 R2 public templates are aimed at providing inspiration for Web designers and developers and can be used as a starting base for a EPiServer CMS projectSee the EPiServer CMS 5 R2 SP1 Installation Instructions for information about public templates installation and how to open Public Templates in Visual Studio 2008.

Demo Package


Another template package for EPiServer CMS 5 R2 is also available for download - the EPiServer CMS 5 R2 demo package. The demo package has a different design and structure to that of the Public Template package. One prerequiiste for installing the demo package is that the public templates package must first be installed on the desired target Web site. You will be able to install this demo package easily through the EPiServer Deployment Center. Download the Demo package on EPiServer World and for further installation information read the Demo Package Installation Instructions.
