Button for inserting/edit link sometimes dissapear in TinyMCE?

We are using EPiServer 6 R2 and have a strange problem.
The button in toolbar for inserting/editing link (the one with a globe) sometimes dissapear from toolbar, for several editors.

I have never encountered the problem myself but some editors explained the problem to me.
No changes are made to the "default" settings of the editor.

We can not recreate the problem in any managed way.

Is this a known issue or has someone else reported a problem like this?

Compare page versions in EPiServer CMS 7?

I don't know if I'm overlooking something really obvious but my client has a desire to compare versions of pages. This was fine in EPiServer 6 but I can't find the corresponding functionality in EPiServer 7. I can see the version gadget in the navigation pane but no option to compare versions. The only workaround I'm aware of is to log into the classic editor which I don't particularly want to expose to my client.

The EPiServer 7 Editor manual states:

"Page versions can be compared in three different ways, allowing quick review of changes made to a page."

Has this been removed in EPiServer 7?

Om man använder publiceringsdatum så kan man lätt ställa in var sidan ska placeras när sluta-pulicera-datum inträder, t ex att nyheter läggs på en arkivsida efter två veckor. Mitt problem är att jag vill flytta nyheter till en arkivsida efter två veckor, MEN jag vill att arkivsidan med dessa "gamla" nyheter ska vara tillgängliga för alla läsare - jag vill alltså inte att de ska avpubliceras (alltså vill jag inte använda sluta-publicera-datum) utan bara flyttas till en annan sida.

Går detta att göra på något smidigt sätt?

Hide navigation menu item based on access rights

Hi, we have a page which has its access rights set to only be viewed by certain users. This works fine and other users cannot access it. The problem is the page's hyperlink still appears in the navigation menu. I wish this link to not appear for users without the rights to view it and to appear for authorised users. When an unauthorised user clicks the link it just throws out an error.

Could someone show me how to disable the menu item for non authorised users and show it for authorised users.

Link properties pop-up window problem when using Composer in IE8

Has anyone else experienced a problem with the Link properties pop-up window disappearing when using EPiServer Composer in Internet Explorer 8?

The Link properties pop-up window appears so far off screen that the user cannot see the window to select it. Instead they have to select the Link properties item in their Windows taskbar and select Maximise.

Right now it is possible to create visitor groups based on whether the user has visited a specific page. Any ideas is it posible to create groups based on whether the user has visited a specific page OR one of its subpages.

'Object reference not set to an instance of an object.' is a common error reference when viewing an Episerver-site when a property is missing. The problem is that it is hard to find which property is missing.

I request that you at Episerver should develop an method for making this easier to track down.

"Mark page as changed" checked as default

Is there any way to have the checkbox "Mark page as changed" ("Markera sidan som ändrad") checked as default? It would be good to have the date in the footer updated when I make a change on the page.

I found some forum posts on this topic, but they were all from CMS 4. Has there been any changes since then regarding this?

'Ready to Publish' access rights

Is it possible to give someone 'Ready to Publish' access rights without giving them Publish rights?

In my scenario users in the WebEditors group should be able to create pages and then when they click on Ready to Publish a workflow is initiated whereby a WebAdmin is notified and either publishes the page or sends it back for ammendment. The problem is that the WebEditor shouldn't have the rights to publish the page, but I don't seem to ba able to give them 'Ready to Publish' without Publish.

I have given edit and publish rights to some editors. Not in the top of tree structure but only on a node below.

The get only on page edit options and not full edit mode. How can this be? What can I do to solve it?

Jag undrar om man av misstag råkat plocka en version för en publicerad sida version av en sida. Finns det någonstans i EpIServer där man kan hitta borttagna versioner. Borttagna sidor vet jag ju hur jag hittar men inte borttagna versioner.

Skapa arbetsflöde

Hej!
Jag har tänkt att skapa någon form av arbetflöde där skribenter, som inte kan publicera, ska kunna fixa till sidor och klicka på Klar för publicering. När de gjort det var tanken att det skulle skickas ett mail till mig och där finnas en länk till sidan de gjort klar för publicering och jag skulle enkelt och smidigt kunna publicera sidan.

Jag har dock inte lyckats att få till det här. Nu undrar jag om det finns någon som vet om detta är möjligt och i så fall har några tips på hur jag praktiskt går tillväga?
Vi har version CMS 5 av EPiServer.

Submit Xform when hitting enter - set defaultbutton?

On our website, we have a search field at the top of the page and it interferes when there are 2 forms on the page. For example, on the contact us page, there is the quick search form and the contact form which is an xform. If you are typing something in the contact form and hit enter, it send the information to the search form.

Is there no easy way to set the defaultbutton for the xform submit button? I haven't seen a way to either add an ID to the button or reference it in some way using FormControl.FindControl(). There is only a name set for the submit button but no ID.

I did see a post by Bjorn Gustafson titled "Setting the submit button as the default button in an XForm", but I was wondering if there is an alternative way to this.

Is there no other solution to this?

MetaKeywords and MetaDescription fields are missing

I'm new to EPiServer and got a very basic question. In the Admin Mode, there is a dynamic properties named MetaKeywords and MetaDescription, but I could not find a way to fill this property in the page. It says that it is under the advance information tab but i could not find it in all pages. Perhaps I missed something here.

Jag försöker strukturera upp ett skelett för en kampanjsida som ska bli live om två veckor, men det verkar som att EPiSERVER inte är mac-vänligt. Sitter på en relativt ny macbook pro. Har prövat alla möjliga webläsare. En kollega till mig har inga problem i firefox på sin pc som det verkar. Det som vanligtvis stör mitt arbete är när jag ska flytta på content. Då flyger jag neråt i oändligheten tills jag släpper det content jag håller i. Går inte att flyta på toolboxen utan att allt fryser fast. Kan inte deleta content heller.

Har prövat: firefox, chrome, opera.

Apple är ju ändå stora på marknaden nu, så jag förstår inte grejen med att hänga kvar i stenåldern med kompabiliteten?

Någon annan med samma problem och framförallt finns det någon med en lösnning?

Kan vi använda EPiServer:s arbetsflöde för påminnelser till redaktörer?

Vi skulle vilja skapa någon form av arbetsflöde där man som redaktör ska granska sidor. Det handlar inte om att godkänna sidorna inför publicering utan att få ett arbetssätt som göra att man regelbundet tittar igenom alla sidor. Är det någon som vet om det finns möjlighet till detta i episerver och hur gör vi i så fall?

Så här skulle påminnelsen kunna fungera:

Varje sida ska generera en påminnelse baserat på tidpunkt som redaktören anger.
-Påminnelsen ska vara i form av ett mejl som skickas till redaktör 1:s e-postadress.
-Påminnelsen ska även läggas upp på redaktör 1:s dashboard.
-Påminnelsen ska innehålla länk till sida som ska granskas.
När publicerad-datumet för sidan är ändrat ska påminnelsen försvinna från dashboard.
Om publiceradatumet inte är uppdaterat efter en vecka, ska en påminnelse skickas till en gruppen i form av ett e-postmeddelande och påminnelsen flyttas från redaktör 1:s dashboard till alla i gruppens dashboard. När någon i gruppen har granskat sidan ska påminnelsen försvinna enligt punkt 5 ovan.

Syftet med Hotspots var att facilicera nätverkande och erfarenhetsutbyte deltagare emellan. Vi ifrån EPiServer hjälpte till att få igång två diskussionsgrupper där deltagarna diskuterade i bikupor om fem-sex deltagare i varje bikupa. En diskussionsgrupp diskuterade "Erbjuder du hamburgare till vegetarianer" och en grupp diskuterade "Mäter du för mätandets skull?"

Dra-släpp funkar inte

Hej Vi håller på att konvertera material till 4.61 och då tänkte vi att dra-släpp från filhanteraren skulle funka. Men det gör det inte, det som händer är att filen visas i webbläsarfönstret. Det händer liksom inget magiskt för att man släpper den i Episervers utforskare. Vilka inställningar ska man göra för att detta med dra-släpp ska funka i 4.60?

Lägga in text utan att vara i redigerarläge

I Epi 6 så ska det finnas möjlighet att lägga in text utan att man är inne i redigerarläge. Var kan jag hitta information om detta. Detta för att "dummies" ska kunna bidra med text med inte behöva lära sig Episerver. Har sett detta på anv.träff men kan inte hiita det nu och behöver ta det till våra utvcklare.

Accessibility guidelines recommend:
1.3.1 T5: Using ID and HEADERS attributes to associate data cells with header cells (complex data tables)

Does anyone know if there is a way to make the tables created by TinyMCE and EpiServer 6 more compliant with these guidelines? I don´t want to write HTML in order to set up the ID/Headers attributes. It works with EPiServers old fashion editor.

Scheduled publishing / tidsstyrd publicering

When you have a page scheduled for future publishing the only way you can see this is in the version list. Is it possible to make this visible with a symbol also in the page tree? Our editors think this would very much improve and speed up their work!

När du har en tidsstyrning på en sida, är det enda sättet att se detta, genom att gå till versionlistan och kontrollera om det är något datum satt? Finns det ingen möjlighet att göra tidsstyrningar synliga även i sidträdet med nån liten symbol? Våra redaktörer anser att detta skulle förenkla deras arbete väsentligt.

Trying to close account

I'm trying to close my account. On the contact page it says "Close your membership account: Send an e-mail to the EPiServer World team." But if I click the link Outlook Express tries to start up and fails (something about not being installed properly), so I can't get the adress. If someone could tell me what it is, I'd be happy. =)

Always set width and height for the IMG tag

Is there a way that all images that are added gets the width and height set on the img tag? When I publish a page now there is no width/height set unless I set it by myself by selecting "Fler inställningar" and "Lås höjd/bredd-förhållande" in the "Bildredigerare".

Hi!

I´m looking for a Episerver installation/customer that handles target groups with help of categorizes in a smart way. I wanna discuss:

how to handle lots of specialised texts and categorizes.
Need for special interface to manage the volume?
In our situation - the volumes might overturn the project
editorial work
administration in time - how to keep the quality
and lot more.

Regionservice is the huge FM service provider in Västra Götalandsregionen. 90% of our customers are hospitals and heath care. We have 52 000 users in our Intranet. (Luckily not all of these people need our information.)

The project I run is making a customer website. All information will be adapted to the agreements that the customer have with Regionservice. The content will be information, instructions, policys, contacts & access to different webbased services. And in time perhaps some portlets.

What we wanna achive is something that feels like a portal but isn't a true portal. We cannot demand everyone to log in to this web - there are too many naive users. Single-sign-on will not be implemented in many years. Instead we have to identify the different needs with help of navigation. The user has to identify himself/herself - "who are you and what do you want do".

The main target is "Make it simple for the customer".

Do you have similar thoughts or a similar werbsite?
Do you want someone to discuss with?
Do you live preferably in Stockholm or Gothenburg?

The thread input scren needs improvement

This page which I am writing in now needs a touch of usability.

The Subject text field is not long enough, only 23 characters. If it was for a search box, then it would be allright (minimum 20 characters recommended).

Make the subjectfield at least 50 characters long.

To publish this thread, I have to click the 'newtopic' button. First, it's 'New topic' in two words :) Second I don't want a new topic, I want to publish this article......

Rename the button to e.g. 'Publish'

It would also be nice if it was possible to preview the article before it was published.

Förbättringsförslag - mjuka bindestreck

Hej! Jag har fått detta förbättringsförslag från en av våra publicerare: När man klistrar in text där ord är avstavade med mjuka bindestreck, så syns de mjuka bindestrecken i EPI-server. Problemet är att man inte vet att originaltexten innehåller mjuka bindestreck och man helt enkelt glömmer bort dem. Se bifogad bild hur det ser ut: Önskemål: att mjuka bindestreck antingen inte klistras in alls och det inte blir någon avstavning, eller att de faktiskt blir mjuka bindestreck i EPI.

Hej! Någon som känner igen att epi-server uppdateras långsamt. dvs att varje sida laddas långsamt. Det tar upp till två sekunder för att sidorna ska laddas helt. Använder Oracle och det är inga problem med den anslutningen. Epi använder 90% cash i vår installation. Alla förslag mattages tacksamt. Mattias

AD-users vs. EpiServer = problems?

Hi, I am having problems getting EpiServer to show certain active directory users. Is this doable? Maybe I should describe my environment: EpiServer: 4.51.2.145 ADServer: Win2003 sp.1 AD group: "Domain Admins" included in group IntraAdmin that is included in IntraAdmin_NTFS that has privileges in EpiServer. AD users: Users included in AD group IntraRed which in turn is included in IntraRed_NTFS that has privileges in EpiServer. AD Group: "Domain Users" included in group IntraUsers that is included in IntraUsers_NTFS that has privileges in EpiServer. Regarding the above groups: I can view all users that are "domain admins" in EpiServer. I can view all users that are "IntraRed" in EpiServer. I cannot view any users that are "domain users" in EpiServer. Since I don't want to include certain users in either IntraAdmin nor IntraRed and I don't want to use local groups but I still want to give those users privileges to certain pages on the site this creates a problem for me. Can I solve this somehow? Also I don't understand why I have to have 2 levels of non default AD groups to get EpiServer to acknowledge the privileges for users in those groups. Is this normal or is it something I am doing wrong? (some background can be of help regarding my knowledge. I have never worked with EpiServer before nor has anybody else at my job. I just got this Intranet project thrown in my lap by the business. To make things even worse I can add that im not to good at HTML either since im a security/storage technician and only (USED) to work with webpage’s for fun outside my profession, therefor please explain as it was for dummies.) hope the last bit made somebody feel better about the job they do ;-) Regards, Anders

VPN-problem

Vi använder Cisco IP-sec VPN med reverse proxy för att komma åt vårt intranät hemmifrån. Tyvärr fungerar det inte så bra med EPiServer, man ser endast delar av sidorna. Det ser ut som bara vissa units visas. Det händer samma sak om man försöker titta på Kristianstad.se via VPN-förbindelsen. Det fungerar dock bra om man tittar på vanliga ASP eller html-sidor. Är det någon som har haft liknande problem och vet vad man ska göra för att lösa det? Magnus Lindstrand Webmaster i Kristianstads kommun

Kalendarium

Vi har ett kalendarium på Akademiska sjukhusets intranät, men jag skulle vilja utveckla funktionen. Idag gör vi så att vi listar alla evenemang under en månad med datumet först, så evenemangen hamnar i rätt ordning. Vi skulle egentligen hellre vilja ha en kalender som grafiskt ser ut som ett uppslag i en filofax, med två veckor per uppslag. Jag gillar inte riktigt utseendet i grundmallen som följer med Episerver och undrar därför om någon har gjort ett liknande kalendarium? Jag skulle bli jätteglad om någon delade med sig av sina erfarenheter och tankar och kanske har möjlighet att skicka en skärmdump av hur det ser ut hos er. /Maria Bergkvist, webbsamordnare Akademiska sjukhuset
